About Pahrump, NV - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Found in Nye County, Nevada, Pahrump is an unincorporated community with about 37,000 residents. Originally inhabited by the Southern Paiute, European settlers made their way into the area in the late 19thcentury. The community had no phone service until the 1960s, and paved roads came even later. However, since the 1970s, Pahrump has experienced significant growth, and local businesses now include Spring Mountain Motor Sports Ranch and Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.

There are many places to visit in Pahrump and the surrounding communities. Wine enthusiasts will enjoy the wineries available in the area, including Pahrump Valley Winery and Sanders Family Winery. The Pahrump Valley Museum teaches visitors more about the region, while Terrible’s Lakeside Casino and Pahrump Nugget Casino are great places to wager a few dollars. Families with young children might enjoy a trip to the Yucca Mountain Science Center while nature enthusiasts may like to visit Cathedral Canyon. The Pahrump Rodeo Arena is also a popular venue for equestrian events throughout the year.

Pahrump weather features transitional seasons beginning with a short, mild winter. January is the coldest month, and still, average daily highs reach the upper-50s. Nighttime lows usually fall to the 30s or 40s, so it is important that residents service their heat pump, gas furnace, or other heating system regularly. Energy Star furnaces with a high AFUE rating will also save homeowners on energy costs and may be eligible for tax rebates.

The good news is that the use of heating systems isn’t required for very long, but residents rely heavily on their cooling systems throughout the year. There are over 130 days in the average year in which temperatures are 90 degrees or higher, and thermostat readings frequently reach into triple digits during July and August. A central air conditioner or the cooling action of a heat pump is a necessity to stay safe throughout this time of the year.
